It was a second away win for Bideford Ladies against Totnes RFC Ladies this afternoon. The progression we have made in training started to show on the pitch. The pack worked well together and found continuity in support with some great carries up the park. This resulted in two great Tries from Sarah-Jane Palmer crashing the ball over the line. Though, Totnes being strong up front forced us to equally use our running legs out wide, which saw Kayleigh McDonald run it up the pitch to score our first try; success from both areas of play going forward. There was also excellent pressure through contesting for possession in lineouts and rucks, which saw several turnovers. Pressure off the mark at the scrum from Hannah Underwood saw Totnes No.10 fumble the ball from No.9, which bounced perfectly into Hannah’s hands to run it over the line from the 22, scoring our third Try. Better defence from us made Totnes work hard, who were rewarded with a try from great support play. Totnes put pressure on us defensively, making courageous cover tackles to slow our progress and also saw a few turnovers. Lovely ladies to play against, we look forward hosting you at home.
