Bideford second team hosted South Molton on Saturday. Fielding a full team with a strong bench Bideford went into the game positively considering they were facing top merit table team. The first twenty five minutes was a spectacle as both teams attacked and defended well, South Molton then scored twice before the break and Danny Braddick scored from a catch and drive lineout move. Entering the second half trailing 14-5 Bideford were still well in contention. Both teams made half time changes, South Molton bringing on some experience which brought with it a couple more well worked converted tries. Bideford fought on still showing some great rugby, setting up a break for Seb Sanders to take advantage of to score under the posts and converted by Sam Griffin. With a final score of 32-12 it was certainly a game that could so easily have been in Bideford’s favour but on the day it wasn’t to be.
