A Huge Weekend Ahead for the Chiefs
This weekend, the Chiefs travel to Exeter Sarries in the league for the second of their opening three away game, an incredibly tough schedule, made even more challenging by the postponement of the league rugby.
Bideford will be keen to improve on their performance at South Molton and will certainly be looking to start the game much quicker than they did last season against a fast and lively Sarries team.
There will be some changes to the line-up this week, with a few players unavailable and others carrying some niggling injuries. However, the majority of the squad remains the same, and the players will be keen to give a much better account of themselves, both in terms of their ability and tactically.
Sarries are a big, strong unit and come into the game on the back of an impressive victory over Crediton 2nd XV, where they amassed 69 points. With new coaches and, no doubt, some new players in the squad, they will be a tough prospect for the Chiefs away from home.
Quins Prepare for Local Derby
Quins had a tough opener against New Cross last week but now go into their second game of the season with a local derby against Torrington.
Torry also had a tough game against Sidmouth last weekend and will be keen to put that right this time around.
With a few players returning to the squad this week, including some former Chiefs players making their comebacks, it should make for a great game for the supporters.
And, of course, there should be plenty of entertainment after the final whistle, with the usual singalong in the bar!
Colts Begin National League Cup Campaign
The Colts will also be in action this Sunday as they travel to Barnstaple for their opening game in the National League Cup.
They will be keen for some of the stalwart supporters to make their way over the bridge into Apache land and get behind them.
The Colts come into the game with an impressive three wins from three and, for possibly the first time, they should be able to select from a full squad, with the exception of just one player.
It is a great first game to have against local rivals, and the Colts are keen to get their competition rugby under way.
They will be looking forward to the challenge — and, hopefully, plenty of travelling support making the short journey to cheer them on.
It promises to be another big weekend of rugby for the club, with the Chiefs facing a tough away test, Quins involved in a local derby and the Colts beginning their cup campaign against local rivals.
