ANOTHER TRIP SOUTH FOR THE CHIEFS!
It’s another trip south for the Chiefs this weekend, and that makes it three away trips on the bounce!
Last weekend was certainly a long day for the lads, who left absolutely everything on the pitch and battled for the majority of the game with just 14 men. The effort and commitment were there for all to see, and they will need every ounce of that again this weekend.
There will be something of an old-look, new-look pack this time around, with both Pauly Thomas and Ash Crouch out for the foreseeable future. That means opportunities for others to step up and make their mark.
WITHYCOMBE AWAIT
Withycombe have enjoyed two good games and have been putting points on the board, so they’ll be desperate to get a home win under their belts. They are a strong, aggressive side who aren’t afraid to throw the ball around and will present the Chiefs with another serious test.
This is a tough game, a tough opponent and another long journey, but the Chiefs will be up for the challenge.
With the MND Charity Match taking place at Bideford later in the day, a huge thank you goes to Withycombe for agreeing to the early 1pm kick-off. It means the Chiefs can get back and join us for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon and evening of fundraising.
QUINS LOOK TO BUILD
The Quins head into the weekend full of confidence after a thumping win over Torquay.
Standing in their way are Exeter Engineers, who will provide a tough test and will certainly make the Quins work for it.
A few familiar faces return to the squad this weekend following their absence last time out, and the Quins will be looking to put in another strong performance and give their supporters plenty to cheer about.
MND CHARITY MATCH — BE THERE!
Once the rugby is finished, the focus turns to a very special game at the club as we come together to raise money for MND.
Club friend Lewis Moody has sadly been diagnosed with the disease, and with his wife Annie being a local lass, the club wanted to do something to show our support. Lets raise as much as possible for a great charity and a great guy.
And what a game we have lined up!
Richard Hill and Alex King will go head-to-head as coaches, with two teams made up of current and former players who have pulled on the shirt over the years.
Expect plenty of rugby, plenty of laughs, plenty of old faces. and probably a few stories that are better left untold!
But the rugby is only part of it. We’re keeping the party going long into the evening, with Tony entertaining in the Sin Bin Bar and our resident DJ taking over the club.
So get yourselves down to the club, bring your friends and family, dig deep and help us raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause.
Great rugby. Great people. A great cause.
COLTS READY FOR ANOTHER TEST
The Colts head into the weekend on a high after their National Cup victory over local rivals Barnstaple.
There’s no time to rest, though, as they head straight back into action with a Merit Table clash against a strong Kingsbridge side.
The Colts travel with a full-strength squad to choose from, although there will be some changes following the physical battle at Barnstaple.
It promises to be another tough one on the road, but the lads will be relishing the challenge. They’ll be looking to get on the front foot from the first whistle and make a positive start to their Merit Table campaign.
Three teams. Three tough challenges. One big weekend for the club.
Get behind the lads, enjoy the rugby and, most importantly, get yourselves down to the MND Charity Match and support an incredible cause.
COME ON, CHIEFS
