Three homegrown talents from Bideford’s junior ranks are making their mark on the wider rugby world, and flying the flag for the club in style.

Jack Cotgreave is back with Gloucester this season (complete with a fresh trim!) and has earned a coveted spot in the England U21 Elite Player Squad for 2025/26. During the off-season, Jack gave back to his roots, running sessions with both our Seniors and Juniors, a true ambassador for Bideford rugby on and off the pitch.

Louis Bloodworth also came through the Bideford pathway, first catching the eye of Barnstaple before being swiftly signed by Nice RFC in the south of France. He’s already made his first appearances there and looks set for an exciting career ahead.
Matt Lewis, a former Bideford junior who has spent the last few seasons with the Chiefs setup, has rocketed into the international rugby scene after being selected to represent the Czech Republic last season.
Currently based at Hartpury, Matt continues to develop his game at a high level , but he never forgets his roots. He still returns to Bideford RFC, the club where he first honed his skills, to stay connected with the community that helped shape his journey.
Everyone at Bideford RFC is immensely proud of both Jack, Louis and Matt. Their journeys are only just beginning, and we can’t wait to see how far they’ll go.
