It’s a quieter weekend in terms of fixtures, but there are still some exciting matchups to look forward to at the club.
The Chiefs are set to take on Exeter Saracens , a strong side who knocked Bideford out in the first round of the competition last year. They finished mid-table last season, but they’ve started this year strongly, racking up 50 points against South Molton and 33 against league favorites Devonport Services. We know we’ll need to be at our best to come away with a result.
With this being the only senior fixture of the weekend, there’s no shortage of players available. A few of the in-form Quins, who have scored an impressive 119 points in their last two games, will get a chance to feature. That said, there won’t be too many changes to the starting lineup, as we continue to build consistency, though we will take the opportunity to rest a few players carrying knocks.
Unfortunately, a few players will miss out through longer-term injuries, and the club wishes them all the best in their recoveries (Joey Faulkner and Ned Pettifer). For others, this weekend is a great chance to step up and show the coaches what they’re capable of.
The Colts are away this weekend, facing an in-form Crediton side. The return of some key players will be a welcome boost. It’s a great opportunity for the squad to build momentum as they look to get their second game of the season under their belts.
Best of luck to all our teams this weekend — whether you’re pulling on the shirt or cheering from the sidelines, let’s bring the energy and represent the club with pride! 🔴⚪
