Teams 
Bideford have been handed a home tie in the second round of the National Cup and will welcome Helston RFC to King George’s Field on October 25th. Helston play in the Cornish equivalent league, and while it’s been many years since the two sides met—on what many vaguely recall as a “tour”—the memories are still fond (if a little fuzzy!).
Very few will remember the final score, but some standout moments remain: Kevin Booth pulling the strings at fly-half, and Simon Norman, proud inventor of the infamous “fork and knife” defence, lining up at centre. What everyone does remember (perhaps not Matt Glover) is the warm hospitality, the good laughs, and the legendary combination of Spingo beer and port… a night for the history books!
Helston so far have one win and one loss under their belt this season, but you can count on plenty of Cornish pride and grit when they arrive. We look forward to welcoming Helston’s players, coaches, and travelling supporters for what promises to be a great occasion.
