Big Weekend Of Rugby!

Rugby Weekend Preview – Big Fixtures Across All Sides!

What a weekend of rugby we have ahead!

The Chiefs are riding high after a strong away win at Ivybridge and now face a huge test as they welcome an in-form Topsham side to home turf. Topsham have been putting together a string of impressive results, notching wins over Ivybridge, Withycombe, and Crediton. With plenty of depth in their squad, they’ve had the advantage of bringing back first-team players into their second team following injury returns. One name to watch is Finley Cackett ,a familiar face at our club who, after a decent Devon U20s campaign, made the move to Topsham’s first XV.

The chiefs are on their own journey of success with three league wins with full bonus points. Moral is high and they are really looking forward to this game it will be a great game and the crowd will play a huge part in outcome.

The Quins are on the road to face Ilfracombe, who have also found good form recently. It’s set to be a fierce contest, but the Quins will be fired up after back-to-back league wins against Barnstaple and Torrington. Expect a high-intensity clash , the kind of game players love to be part of. Skipper Danny Braddick will be leading from the front, making sure the squad is ready and raring to go.

The Colts make the long trip to Kingsbridge this weekend. After a performance they’ll be keen to bounce back from against Sidmouth, the young but talented squad will be eager to show what they’re made of. If you’re heading down to South Devon, expect a determined showing from the lads.

Our Ladies team are also back in action this Sunday with their first home game of the season, taking on Helston Ladies. After a gritty battle against Topsham Ladies last time out, the team will be looking to build on that momentum. Your support from the sidelines would mean the world to them – let’s give them a proper home welcome!

And there’s plenty of Junior Rugby to enjoy this weekend too. One standout fixture is the Under-16s taking on a strong Newton Abbot side. These teams haven’t faced off since their Under-11 days, so this promises to be a cracking match between two well-matched squads.

Under 11’s will be playing at the Kingsley Festival whilst the 12s and 13s will be attending the West Buckland festivals. Under 12 and 14 girls will be attending a cluster game for their ages at Barnstaple.
