Bideford traveled to Crediton on Saturday 17th for their first pre-season game of the season. Following on from great numbers at training thirty three senior players were available and made the trip, with all playing at least half the game. Game play is looking promising this early in the season with good support play and with last years colts and other younger players really stepping up their game to make selection over the next few weeks very competitive for places. Seb Sanders, Billy Teape and Adam Crouch showed particular promise.
We did however pick up two injuries with Pete Hockridge needing stitches to a head injury but will be back in a few weeks and Alex Hillman with a nasty shoulder injury which could see him side-lined for the forth coming season. Coming away with a 46-26 win was pleasing and only lifted player moral further, however it was pointed out that there is plenty more work to do and continued commitment to training is essential, however a good start for all senior players.
