The SB Panthers’ Under-18 side are preparing for a League Final showdown after an impressive season in the newly formed U18s league format across Devon.
Formed through a partnership between Bideford Vixens and Exeter Saracens RFC, the SB Panthers cluster was created to give young players greater opportunities to compete and develop at a higher level. The collaboration has proven to be a major success, both on and off the field.
Throughout the season, the team has demonstrated commitment, energy and strong togetherness, helping them deliver consistent performances against sides from across Devon. The Panthers finished second in the league standings, losing just one match during the campaign.
Their strong league performance has secured a place in the competition’s final, where the top two teams will meet to decide the title on 29 March.
Coaches and supporters have praised the partnership between the two clubs, highlighting how the collaboration has strengthened the pathway for girls’ and women’s rugby in the region. The joint effort has allowed players to train and compete together, building a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours.
With the final now just weeks away, the Panthers squad continues to work hard in training and head into the showpiece match full of confidence after a series of strong recent performances.
Regardless of the result, the season has already underlined the potential of the partnership and the bright future for the girls involved as women’s rugby continues to grow locally.
