Boxing day rugby is hopefully back! providing the weather does not get worse!!
This season will see the Chiefs travelling to high flying Barnstaple who are sitting fourth in their league and will be keen to put on a good show for their supporters.
This will be the second time this season that the two sides have met, Barnstaple came over the bridge for a pre season friendly which was a good test for Bideford who opted to use the quarter game to look at new arrivals and play some players in different positions.
Forwards coach Kevin Booth said “This is an opportunity for Bideford to play against a higher standard of team than usual, the result is not important but the performance is. Barnstaple are expected to win , and win well, the pressure is off us it is a chance to have some fun and give it a good go, having said that we will go with the mentality that we do for every game, to win”.
Bideford will be up against some of Plymouth Albions talented youngsters who are loaned out to Barnstaple and will look forward to that challenge. Bideford may see the likes of Harry Elliot, who left Bideford for Barnstaple this season and former Bideford player Neil Giddy.
The Quins will be entertaining Barnstaple at home this season and go into the game sitting top of their merit table and have a great opportunity to beat Barnstaple.
