As we kick off the new season, we’re pleased to welcome a refreshed coaching setup. Kevin Booth is joined by Andy Mackenzie -Shapland, Andy Loosemore and Tim Priest all involved in various levels. Three experienced rugby minds, and former club captains who’ve brought real energy and focus to our pre-season preparations. It’s been an exciting few weeks, with an average of 38 players turning up to training , A fantastic sign of the commitment and belief in what we’re building. A major focus has been on developing a strong, positive culture within the squad, and with three former Chiefs captains now in the mix, there’s a real sense of leadership and shared purpose throughout the group. We’d also like to thank Mark Schofield, who has stepped back from coaching to spend more time with family. That said, he hasn’t hung up his boots just yet, and will still be available for selection when life allows. Last season was a tough one for our club. On the field, results didn’t go our way, and we now find ourselves a league lower. A reality no one wanted, but one we must face head-on. Off the field, we've also been challenged in ways that test the very fabric of our club. One of the toughest blows has been seeing some of our top talent lured away, not just by higher leagues or new opportunities, but by a neighbouring club offering financial incentives we simply can't match. It's never easy losing players, especially those who’ve come up through our ranks or worn our jersey with pride. But this is the nature of the game we love, and while it stings, it also sharpens our resolve. Despite these setbacks, there’s a new energy running through the squad. We’ve welcomed several fresh faces, players hungry to prove themselves and proud to be part of our rebuilding journey. Alongside our loyal core, this group brings the right mix of heart, grit, and determination to write a new chapter in our club’s history. This season isn't about quick fixes or revenge. It’s about sticking together, developing our talent, and laying the groundwork for long-term success. We might be in a different league, but our ambition remains unchanged: to grow stronger, build smarter, and climb back up on our own terms. Thank you to the supporters for standing with us. With your support from the sidelines, and our commitment on the pitch, we will work this out as a club. Training is held Wednesdays at 7pm, anyone is welcome to join us. Westward Ho!
